As of this week Grice Racing Engines will be able to seal Rotax engines, after an inspection by J.A.G. which was passed with flying colours. (10th June 2014)

To celebrate, Grice has a new improved special offer on a full rebuild for £295 plus VAT - currently the best value in the business.

This includes piston, small end cage and pin, main and balance shaft bearings, all gaskets and O rings where applicable, but not conrod, balance shaft, reed petals and water pump shaft.

The trackside support available means Grice offer a level of service that just isn't available anywhere else and engines are individually prepared with the maximum attention to detail.

So you can be sure that every last unit of horsepower has been wrung out of your engine, Grice have a state-of-the-art Rotronics dyno with fully-automated software in an air-conditioned and temperature-controlled room, and are one of the only kart engine tuners to have installed a Sports Devices rolling road to complement the dyno, using transient and eddy current technology to access the engine ancillaries and optimise the package as a whole.

Maximise your potential with Grice

If you need to get your engine sorted after the season or you're starting to get organised for next year, Grice have the expertise, equipment and experience to get you up there with the best.

Ricky Grice, Marc Dawson and Tom Grice have experience with almost every engine used in the UK and can offer a full Rotax strip and rebuild which includes all labour, and parts except conrod, balance shaft and reed petals for £355 plus VAT. A dyno power test is £87.50 plus VAT and you can have your carb optimised with an ultrasonic set up for £60.

Grice have a state-of-the-art Rotronics dyno with fully-automated software in an air-conditioned and temperature-controlled room, and are one of the only kart engine tuners to have invested in a Sports Devices rolling road to complement the dyno, using transient and eddy current technology to access the engine ancillaries. Time on these costs £450 for the day, £250 for a half day and £100 per hour.

Engines prepared by Grice benefit from an individual rather than mass-market approach, which enables precise tolerances, and this approach continues with the dedicated trackside support, where any engine can be rebuilt at the track.

This season the IAME engine has revolutionised Cadet racing and Grice have seamlessly added the unit to their portfolio, drawing on their vast experience with it's big brother, the 100cc Parilla Swift JICA engine, the predecessor to KF3. A full rebuild for the IAME Cadet engine costs £180 plus VAT.

Minimax

Grice power continued to provide the speed in Mini max, when Connor Hall took 2nd place at Campillos in Spain, when in only his second junior race, he took part in the Rotax Winter Cup.

Initially planned to provide Connor with international race experience in the Junior Rotax, he shocked everyone with his speed. ”It was mainly to be an experience for him,” Hall Snr said, “but to our surprise, after having a reasonable qualifying, he won the Pre-final and then finished 2nd in the main final, in what was a close race to the flag!” Not to mention that Connor was also five seconds clear of 3rd place as well

To mark his excellent start to 2012, Connor also finished joint 3rd in the Super 1 Winter Cup in Minimax, particularly since the drivers’ who finished in front of him having a lot more experience being well into their second year in the class.

Further strong Minimax results came from Will Taylforth, with a first ever major win at Wigan, and Lando Norris, with a solid first ever major win at PF International.

Junior Max

Josh White was another winner at PF International. “I thought that the engines were strong all weekend and we were able to set the kart up well, because we knew where we were with the power. Thanks to Grice and RL for a good first race back.”

Not to be outdone Ben Hingeley took his first win at Wigan, and then produced another good result a week later. “It was a good weekend. Moving up to a new class is always going to be difficult, so I was pleased with 4th place. Ricky's engines were very fast as usual! We set the lap record, but then just gotp piped by 3/100ths later on in the day. We are now really looking forward to the Super 1 with Grice engines.”

Round 2 Super 1 Winter Series

Sam Marsh dominated the junior race, with Oli Myers chasing him in a very strong second, whilst Connor Mills, as stated earlier, continuing with his excellent 2012 form with 3rd place in Minimax. Jai Nijjar and Connor Hall recorded the joint fastest lap in the class.

Florida Winter Tour

Across the Atlantic Ocean at the Florida Winter Tour, Pierre Luc Omelette came home in a very strong 4th in Senior Max, but the expectation was he would have surely been better placed had his race engines not been delayed in Customs for 10 days! They did not arrive until the last day of testing, with his subsequent pace demonstrating proof of the prospect of a continuing and strong 2012 Senior campaign.

Our impressive end of year performance continues to gather trophies and fastest laps.

New into minimax Harrison Thomas,  Jack Leese, Lando Norris and Connor Hall continue to impress with 4 different teams all producing exceptional results.  Existing drivers Connor Mills, Stef Charalambous and Jai Nijjar still dominating the Super1 winter series and various club level races.

New junior hotshots Josh Price, Jack Lang, Jack Mitchell, Ben Hingeley, Tom Harvey, Harry Campey have proved their 2011 pace was no flluke as they continue to flourish in this difficult class.

To emphasise that continual development is important to our customers, we recently visited the island of Lanzarote for 3 days to develope our motors/carbs for the 2012 regulations.
